CHELEMER, HAROLD: On Tuesday, December 6, 2016; Adored husband of Joan S. (Hirsh) Chelemer. Loving father of Marc Jason (Carol Shansky) Chelemer, Scott Brian (Brenda) Chelemer, Bruce Noah Chelemer and Todd Bennett (z"l). Grandfather of Micaela Brody, Daniel Seth Chelemer, Joshua Nakagawa, Beth Nakagawa, Samuel Todd Chelemer, Ben Elijah Chelemer, Phillip Arthur Chelemer and David Adam Chelemer. Great-grandfather of Starr, Lily, Oneil and Clara Levesque, Mako and Milo Nakagawa. Also survived by six nieces. Mr. Chelemer was a great bridge player. He had a 32 year career working for Westinghouse Electric where he became a world expert on heat transfer in nuclear reactors. He also was a lifelong birder. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Wednesday at 2 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services, (1 - 2 PM). Interment Homewood Cemetery. Dear Joan/Family: We are very sad to hear about Harold. We had a pleasure of knowing Harold for a long time at Westinghouse. He indeed was an expert in thermal hydraulics and statistical analysis. I always sought out his help whenever we had to solve a tough engineering/statistical analysis problem. He was a true scientist, always very humble, helpful and knowledgeable. We will miss him.
