EPSTEIN, HELEN JUDITH ARNOLD: on Sunday, January 15, 2017; Wife of the late Philip Epstein, loving mother of James Epstein (Susan Sternburg) and Susan E. Arnold (Diana Salter). Dear grandmother of Mark Arnold, Lily Epstein and Sarah Salter. Sister of the late Bernice Wiener and daughter of the late Edith and Julius Arnold. Survived by dear friends Miriam Schaffel, Jack Barrett and Ruth Thompson. Helen was a teacher and later the Director of Temple Nursery School. Helen, Phil and their children were avid golfers, frequently playing as a family foursome. She was an ardent walker and volunteered at First Tee of Pittsburgh, but most of all loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Helen's love of exercise led her to remain impressively active into her 90's. Her wry wit and memorable sense of humor were loved by friends of all ages. Services at Rodef Shalom Temple, 4905 Fifth Avenue (at Morewood) on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 1 PM. Visitation one hour prior to servies at Temple, (12 Noon - 1 PM). Interment West View Cemetery of Rodef Shalom Congregation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood or First Tee of Pittsburgh.
