FILSON, JAMES LEE On July 4, 2017, at the age of 73. Born to Julia Ward Filson and James H. Filson, he spent most of his childhood in Youngstown, Ohio, where he was raised by his mother, aunt, uncle, and grandmother following his father's early death. Jim attended Ohio University and had a career as a chemical engineer. He loved fishing and telling stories, but loved his family most of all. Jim is survived by his wife, Cathy Filson, his children Loren Filson Lapidus (Micah Lapidus), Jeffrey Filson (Tanya Filson), Julia Filson, Kara (Richard) Krill and Erin (Jim) Urban and his eight grandchildren. Services at Temple Ohav Shalom, 8400 Thompson Run Rd, Allison Park on Thursday at 10 AM. NO PRIOR VISITATION. Interment Beth Shalom Cemetery. Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
