Darrell H. "Buddy" Lazarus

Darrell H. “Buddy” Lazarus, age 93, of Pittsburgh passed away on 08/19/2017, son of the late Ben and Anna Lazarus, loving and extremely devoted husband for close to 42 years to Helen Klein Lazarus, father to Lynn Shapiro, Barbara Daniels, Dr. Cathy (Dr. Thomas) Tyma and Dr. Patti Soffer (Bob Cannon). He is survived by his grandchildren Ryan Shapiro, Meredith Tyma, Alexander Tyma, and Heather Daniels-Rosenblatt (Brett) and multiple nephews, nieces, and grandnephews and grandnieces. He especially cherished his close relationship with Ryan, Meredith, Alex, nephew Dr. Hillard (Joan) Lazarus and grandnephews Jeffrey (Jana) Lazarus and Adam (Sarah) Lazarus. Buddy was a loving and extremely devoted husband to his late first wife, Helen Kurtz Lazarus, and was also predeceased by brothers Arnold H. (late Belle) Lazarus and Norman H. (late Sivia) Lazarus. He was a WW II veteran, having served as a US Army medic and Staff Sergeant. He was a licensed Real Estate Broker and Insurance Broker, and was president of Mercury Real Estate Co., Inc. He lived a wonderful life, traveled the world, frequently donated to various charities, especially to The State of Israel. He was a man who cherished his family above all else. He will be fondly missed and remembered by all that knew and loved him. Services will be held on Tuesday 08/22/2017 at 2:00 pm, at RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, INC., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside. Visitation one hour prior to services (1 pm to 2 pm). Interment Beth Shalom Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Darrell H.
