ROSENSTEIN, BETH S.: 80, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2017, in the kind care of the Retreat at Oxbow North facility. Beth was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on August 30, 1937, to Sam and Rose Verman. She graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Simmons College in Boston, MA. She married David H. Rosenstein on September 18,1960. Beth put her boundless energy to use pursuing her many interests and talents. She was an avid hiker, patron of the arts, supporter of Israel, Civil Rights activist, globe-trotting traveler, mother and grandmother, but Beth’s true passion was the culinary arts. Over the years, she cooked wonderful holiday dinners, taught cooking classes, catered parties and events, helped author two cookbooks, and worked in kitchen stores, but her greatest legacy was passing on to her family her passion for creating and sharing meals around an inviting table. She also took great pride in working at the Albuquerque KiMo Theater and the Very Special Arts to promote access to the arts for all. Beth is survived by her loving husband David, her children Joshua (Susie), Aaron (Jane) and Ruth (Treveston), her brother Marvin Verman (Lela), and her seven grandchildren: Wendy, Jay, Nathan, Sam, Annie, Aviva and Ezra. Graveside Services and Interment will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 1 PM at Beth Shalom Cemetery, 1501 Anderson Road, Shaler Township. Shiva will be held at Yale and Barbara Rosenstein's residence from 6 - 8 pm on Monday, October 16 and Tuesday October 17. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to VSA arts of New Mexico's North Fourth Art Center - 4904 Fourth Street NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107, http://www.vsartsnm.org/. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. www.schugar.com
