LIGHT, LENORE: On January 3rd 2019 in Pittsburgh, PA. Dedicated wife of late Harvey F. Light; beloved mother of Dina Ranade of Beach Haven, NJ, David H. (Mara) Light of Pittsburgh, PA and Debra Light of Los Angeles, CA; devoted grandma of Evonna, Indya, and Devan Ranade and Livia Light; daughter of late Morris and Dora Leon; sister of the late Steven Leon; also survived by many loving cousins, family members, and loyal friends. Lenore was an energetic matriarch who found her greatest joy in being together with her dear family. From the beginning, after graduating from Taylor Allderdice High School in 1954, she put her family first. She helped raise her younger brother in the face of her mother’s untimely death and learned how to care for others while fostering a lifelong positive outlook. Lenore was certified in baby holding and massage for young and distressed infants. She used this healing gift with her children, grandchildren, friends, strangers and even school project robot babies. She was a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Class of 1972 from the College of General Studies. Sharing her giving nature with others, she made homemade soup and managed The Yogurt Experience on Fifth and Meyran for 11 years. Lenore was the epitome of someone who lived her life with meaning, touching many other lives with her kind, accepting presence along the way. She will forever be loved, missed, and treasured. Services at Temple Sinai, 5505 Forbes Avenue, Squirrel Hill, on Sunday, January 6th, 2019 at 2 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services at Temple Sinai (1 – 2 PM). Interment West View Cemetery of Rodef Shalom Congregation. Contributions may be made to The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh and Lemieux Family Center, 5324 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., family owned and operated. www.schugar.com

Dear family of Lenore,
Your grandparents were friends of my parents and my brother David was named after your grandfather. We caught up with your parents later in our lives and I enjoyed running into your mother at Temple Sinai services over the years. My husband (Harvey!) and I send along our deepest condolences. Even though your mother and I never developed a strong friendship, we certainly had a special connection. Sadly, Esther Nathanson

I am so sorry and sad to hear of Lenore's death. What a terrible shock. And what a wonderful friend and woman Leonore is/was. So hard to believe. I graduated high school with Lenore and we have been friends ever since. Everyone loved her. You would know that because she was beloved by all the pets and they know best. Danny and I (and now Lee) have had so many good times with Lenore (and with Harvey) both in Pittsburgh and in Ligonier. And of all our crew, it seemed that Lenore was the healthiest one of all...the rest of us go around hobbling. She surely took good care of herself. And Lenore could put a party or a dinner together like it was a snap and it was always special and beautiful and delicious. I know she was so proud of her family and so glad to have David here in Pittsburgh with his family. I am in Florida so I won't be with you for the funeral. I send my love and sympathy.
