Beverly Jean Friedman
October 26, 2019

On October 26, we said goodbye to our mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend Beverly J. Friedman, 86. A fan of Frank Sinatra, B.J. lived her life “her way.” After her beloved husband, Howard, passed away in 2005, Beverly made a new life for herself and lived happily in Monroeville’s Glenwood community surrounded by many close friends. B.J. was an active volunteer for many years with the Monroeville Library, Family House in Oakland, and the Carnegie Museum (Vincent Van Gogh was her favorite artist). A life-long learner, B.J. was a member of several book clubs and took many classes at the University of Pittsburgh. She previously worked with Howard at their family business. B.J. is survived by her son, Joe, her granddaughter Alyssa and Joe’s partner, Donna Leis; her daughter, Darlene, her son-in-law Roger Roth and their daughter, Eden; her brother Harry and sister-in-law, Joan; and her sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Morty. She is also survived by many nieces and cousins of which she was extremely fond. B.J.’s little dog, Starry, was the love of her life and will be going to live in Philadelphia with Darlene. We will all miss her our mom but are happy she’s with our dad now. Donations in Beverly’s memory may be made to the Monroeville Public Library, 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd, Monroeville, PA 15146, or to a charity of your choice.

Thank you for the special information about Beverly's activities. I didn't know about many of them and glad she was happy volunteering in such a special way. I'm sure many people were helped by her time spent at the library and museum too. I will miss my sister very much. Love, Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Morty too
