CLAUS KARL BECK: Passed away peacefully in his sleep in hospice on July 8, 2021 in Highland Park, Pittsburgh. He was born May 20, 1925 in the Wannsee district of Berlin Germany where he lived until joining the German Army in WWII. He immigrated to Pittsburgh in 1952, went to work as an engineer for Blawnox and traveled the world for projects until he retired. He loved to dance, laugh and was the consummate gentleman at all times. Claus was an active member for many years of the Model Train Club and the Teutonia Männerchor. He was an avid cycler and skier until well into his 70s and loved the outdoors. He was loved and admired and will be forever remembered by all who knew him. His wife, Caroline Hardwick Finlayson Beck, preceded him in death in 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Anne Marie Beck of Boise, ID, step-daughter Audrey Finlayson Cannamela of Reston, VA, two step-grandchildren as well as six nieces and nephews in Germany and South Africa. Burial and Memorial will be Private.
