NANCY VESHANCEY: On Saturday, October 23, 2021. Beloved wife of William S. VeShancey. Beloved mother of James VeShancey, Robert (Tina) VeShancey and the late Steven VeShancey. Sister of the late Carol Cowan and late Barbara Lieberman. Grandmother of Zachary and Hannah VeShancey. Nancy was born and raised in Pittsburgh. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with her B.A. in Education. Nancy was a cherished mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. Nancy was also an avid reader, and had a lifetime love of learning. She was a lover of the arts particularly the opera, amateur investor and spent many years as a tax preparer.  She was an avid gardener and devoted considerable amounts of her spare time cultivating both her indoor plants and outdoor gardens. She and her husband Bill lived for 70 years in Western Pennsylvania and spent the past 19 years in Sarasota FL.  Friends may meet at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside, on Friday at 1 PM and then proceed to West View Cemetery for 2 PM Graveside Services. Scrolled thru the obituarys , I saw Nancy’s. We as kids of Bernie Slone knew her name well because it rhymed. Bill, I know you occasionally played golf with my dad and. brother, Rick.
