DAVID SCHWARTZ: David was born May 8, 1930, in Forest Hills, PA. Beloved brother of Dolores Schwartz (late Harold) Reisz, uncle of John (Judy) Reisz, Allan (Victoria Adams) Reisz, David (Marie-Claude) Reisz and Craig (Carla) Reisz. Great uncle of Julie (Nathan) Haines, Joshua (Christine) Reisz, Morgan Reisz and Cameron Reisz; also survived by great-great nieces and nephew Caroline and Everett Haines, and Eliana and Emilia Reisz. He was a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh, and as a student was enrolled in the Army Reserve Office Training Program (ROTC). He served as a 1st Lieutenant during the Korean War conflict era. During his career he worked at Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin, PA where R&D occurred for the world's first operational nuclear-powered submarine Nautilus. He also worked for GAF Corp and Kroger Corp. Having never married he lived with his sister's family for several years while employed in the Pittsburgh area. The legacy he left with his four nephews is unforgettable. He taught us to eat greasy Wise potato chips right out of the big bag and then wash it down with bottles of pop, and introduced us to canned sardines, in addition to Studio Wrestling. He loved to eat baloney sandwiches with a layer of green onions, ripping off a chunk of cabbage and eating it uncooked, and plenty of raw carrots (he always said you never see a rabbit wearing glasses), and his pastime was enjoying a Phillies Cheroot cigar while mixing Palmolive shave cream into a lather with a brush and mug to apply to his face. Graveside Services and Interment will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 11 AM at Agudath Achim Cemetery, Forest Hills. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., family owned and operated. www.schugar.com
