SHEILA PODOLSKY SITTIG: 1949-2022 (age 72), passed away on April 1, 2022, after years of bravely fighting and surviving longstanding and challenging health issues. Beloved wife of Dr. Michael Sittig, her soulmate and the love of her life, of Pittsburgh, PA. Beloved sister of Dr. Terry (Podolsky) Wolinsky McDonald of Sarasota, FL and Pittsburgh, PA. Beloved daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Geller) Podolsky. Granddaughter of the late Simon and Rebecca (Penner) Geller and Jacob and Hinda Podolsky. Many friends, in- laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was the best daughter, daughter-in-law, wife, sister, sister- in-law, aunt, godmother, relative or friend a person could have. It sounds cliche, but she truly had a heart of gold. She also had a very big and beautiful personality. After graduating from Pennsylvania State University, she taught elementary school for nearly four decades. While at Manchester Elementary School, the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education commemorated Sheila’s ‘excellence in teaching’. She stayed in contact for years with many of her students, delighting in their successes. Sheila was very special to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was unique. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., (412-621-8282), 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside, on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 1:30 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services (12:30 - 1:30 PM). There will also be a Zoom option. Interment  Homewood Cemetery. Michael: So sorry to hear about Sheila. My condolences. She was an extra special person.

So sad to hear of Sheila’s passing. She struggled many years with a multitude of health issues. Her husband Mike took wonderful care of her through a multitude of traumas and continuous setbacks. She was a fighter and went through so much just to get through each day... May G-d be with her family at this time. “Baruch HaShem “.
