DeeJay and Bart. Elliott was one of those special people that your always remember with great fondness even as years and space made the relationship not nearly as close as I wish it was. Our days working on the Duke newspaper on campus made me a lifelong fan of this wonderful, kind and gentle man. On the occasions that I found myself in Pittsburgh, he was the first person I wanted to catch up with. May God rest him in the peace he so richly deserves.

To My Wonderful December Group... that has been with me since I started working at Alexander's over 17 years ago...I was so saddened to hear today about Elliott's passing. I am truly sorry for your loss and send my deepest, most heartfelt condolences. I always admired the friendship all of you had, gathering together year after year here at the guesthouse, to spend time together, laugh together and share stories. I always loved watching you all on check in day, reuniting with warm hugs, showing the love you all had for one another, was truly a treasure to behold. Nothing is more important in life than the people we love. I have shared about Elliott with all of the staff and they wanted you to know, that we ALL are sending our warmest hugs to you at this time. Wishing you peace, comfort, courage, and lots, and lots, and lots of LOVE at this time of sorrow. xoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxoxo Laura, Raul, Orlando, Tim, Robyn, Jorge, Roman, Michael, Paola, Mercedes, Yessenia, Ana, Cecilia and Sonia,

Dee Jay & Bart, While circumstances don’t allow us to make the trip from Phoenix, know that our hearts, love and friendship are with you in Pittsburgh. We will miss Elliott’s gentle kindness and the wonderful times with him in Pittsburgh and Key West and at Seder. Ric will especially miss the times he was asked to see him in the kitchen. Elliott was the definition of a good man.

Dear Dee Jay and Bart we are so sorry for your loss. We just saw Elliott a few weeks ago at Temple Sinai. We had a great conversation he never let on he was not well. I have fond memories of seeing him at parties at Gary Cravener's. He had this wonderful way of making you feel like you were the only person in the room when he spoke to you. He was funny, and kind, and we feel lucky to have known him. He will truly be missed. May his memory be a blessing.

Dear D.J., Linda and I send our sincerest sympathy to you and your family. Elliott was a true “class act” and his fundraising expertise was second to none. I had the privilege of working with Elliott over the years on numerous community projects and learned many valuable “life lessons” from him.
