HEPNER, EDWIN S.: Age 94, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 22, 1918, Edwin was the devoted and beloved husband for 69 years to Celia (Herman) Hepner. He was the proud father of Barbara of Pittsburgh, Zane (Celia), of Winnetka, CA and Dr. Michael (Evva) of Farmington Hills, MI; most adored grandfather (Papa) of Sarah of Chicago, IL.; brother of the late Joseph and the late Leonard. He was also a wonderful uncle and role model to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ed had a long and rewarding career in merchandising. He was the owner of Hepner Company for 47 years, serving customers on the North Side and in the North Hills areas of Pittsburgh. He was a member of Rodef Shalom Congregation and B'Nai Brith Freedom Lodge. Ed had a warm, loving and positive demeanor. He had a kind word and smile for everyone that he met. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Friday at 1 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services (12 Noon - 1 PM). Interment West View Cemetery of Rodef Shalom Congregation.
