Nancy Ortenberg: Sincerest condolences on this most solemn of rites of passage. I did not know your mother was a music educator. . . Yet another thing you and I have in common. Children can often oreflect the best of their parental Influences. If your bright, uplifting personality, your kind and light-hearted manner, your character, integrity and devoted, dependable work ethic are any indication of your mother’s impact on your life, what a splendid gift she gave to all of us here on your “The Young and the Restless” team. I personally am holding you and Grace in comfort and prayer through this difficult time. From her photo, your mom was also beautiful on the outside. May she live on happily through all your good works.

I remember a girl at Allderdice walking the halls carrying a violin on her shoulders. It was almost as big as she! Music was her muse. Fran brought music to so many and was talented herself. How many music teachers know how to play all the instruments? She either learned or taught herself. We reconnected and formed a close-long distance friendship which I miss already. She was so proud of her children and beautiful grand daughters and spoke of them often. She marched to her own drummer! She was my friend. Rest in Peace Franny.
May her memory be a blessing to you all.
