Outside of his career, he was a social justice warrior concerned about civil rights, voting rights, women’s rights, environmental and animal rights. He was an outdoor enthusiast and lover of nature. He was an advocate for protecting wild spaces and all the life within the beautiful areas of nature. Jerry was a knowledgeable gardener who shared his knowledge and plants with many neighbors and friends. He was a proponent of recycling and environmental rights to help protect and keep the planet healthy for further generations. Jerry loved bike riding, hiking, cooking vegetarian meals, watching BBC detective mystery shows and volunteering to maintain hiking trials. Jerry also helped rescued stray and feral cats.
