George was truly that “one of a kind” person. We worked together, quite some time ago, for many years and through countless conversations we developed a cherished friendship. I enjoyed learning about his family, especially his beloved daughters. George was one of the best conversationalists and storytellers I’ve ever met! Caring, thoughtful, and genuine are just a few adjectives that describe him. I will miss you my friend. Phyllis, Marissa, and Janine, I extend my deepest condolences to you.

I am so grateful for the time I had seeing George while in Pittsburgh last October. My wife Linda and I had many wonderful times with him and his wife when we were grad students at Lehigh University in the mid-60s. We enjoyed getting caught up on each other's news during our periodic telephone conversations over the many years. He was a very special person for me.
