DANIEL SHRAGER: Today, we gather to honor and remember Dr. Daniel Shrager, a beloved husband, devoted father, cherisned grandfather, and esteemed psychiatrist.

For 60  beautiful years, Daniel was the loving husband to Marsha. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and unwavering companionship, a beacon of commitment and partnership that has inspired all who knew them. As a psychiatrist, Daniel dedicated his life to understanding and helping others. His work was not just a profession but a calling, one that he pursued with compassion, dedication, and an unyielding desire to make a difference in the lives of his patients. He was the proud father of three wonderful children, each of whom carries forward his legacy of kindness, wisdom, and integrity. His eight grandchildren brought immense joy to his life, and he often spoke of the profound happiness they gave him. Daniel frequently shared that he led a very lucky and happy life. His words remind us of the gratitude he felt for the love, joy, and fulfillment he experienced. It is this gratitude and happiness that we will carry with us as we remember him. Though he is no longer with us, Daniel's spirit, his love, and his legacy continue to live on in our hearts and minds. We honor his memory by cherishing the lessons he taught us the love he shared with us, and the happiness he brought into our lives.

Lo nachat b'shalom, Dr. Daniel Shrager. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11 AM. I didn’t know Dr. Shrager on a personal level, but I referred many of my clients to him and always knew he treated them with respect and consideration. I always learned something and felt at ease when we talked. He was a mensch. May his memory be a blessing.

Hi, Marsha and family. I'm sorry I didn't know about the funeral or I would have been there to offer my condolences in person. Dr. Shrager was an important part of my life the last several years, and I will never forget him, including our last conversation just last week for our final session. He loved what he did, and he taught me so much. May his life be for a blessing.

I am pretty certain my late brother Marc Moss was a friend of Danny’s in childhood. Danny’s name is so very familiar to me. My sympathy to all of the family..

Dr. Dan Shrager was a hero to his fellow psychiatrists in Pittsburgh. 1st he was a loving & caring clinician who was a role model to younger practitioners. But his bold move was to stand up for his patients’ privacy when insurance companies requested patient records to approve payments. He declined to provide the notes, citing confidentiality. He could have been excluded as a provider, but his reason held & the request for personal records was dropped, not just for Dr. Shrager’s patients but for the wider community. May his memory be a blessing.
