CAROL BENJAMIN KAUFMAN: Passed away on Thursday, August 8, age 91. A proud Vassar alumna ('55), her career began in children's literature and continued in administration at Carnegie Mellon and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. She found great joy in her dogs, her Shadyside community, and her family. She is survived by her daughter Ann (James), son James, and her six grandchildren, Alexandra Zoë, Danielle, Jane (Adam), Jillian, James (Priscilla), and Joshua (Hannah). She also leaves her brother Alvin (Jeanine), nephew Robert, and niece Amy. Her family only regrets Gram didn't get to vote for Kamala Harris-she longed to see a woman become president.
