CROOP, RUTH HAUS: On Friday, August 30, 2013; Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Croop. Loving mother of James (Kathryn T. Van Sciver) Croop, Robert (Ginny Kreitler) Croop, and William Croop. Sister of the late Irwin C. Haus. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Sarah and Benjamin . Also survived by  loving nieces and nephews.  Godmother to Leah Spungen. Ruth earned a Bachelor's of Social Work degree from Margaret Morrison College of Carnegie Institute of Technology and her Masters of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh.  She was a social worker for the American Red Cross.  Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Tuesday at 1 PM.  Visitation one hour prior to services (12 Noon - 1 PM).   Interment Cneseth Israel Cemetery. Contributions may be made to American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Dear Jim, Rob, and Bill, Deepest sympathy goes out to you for the loss of your mother. She was a wise and compassionate woman who never lost her sense of curiosity or her sense of humor. I will really miss our phone calls. I'm sorry that she never got around to opening that can of tahini. She always meant to.
