RUBENSTEIN, MILDRED KOVACS: Age 89, the beloved wife of the late Joseph Rubenstein, died on Friday October 4, 2013. She was the cherished mother of Carol Sue Rubenstein Yahr (Michael Yahr) and Mark Rubenstein (Claudia Davidson). She was a loving grandmother to Aaron Zachary Yahr, Mindy Sue Yahr Jaffe (Ed Jaffe), Casey Dee Rubenstein Monroe (Charley Monroe) and Jake Rubenstein. Mrs. Rubenstein was a proud and active member of the Jewish community for many years. She was a trustee of Rodef Shalom Congregation and served as president of the Rodef Shalom Sisterhood. She was a board member of Women of Reform Judaism, World Union for Progressive Judaism, Riverview Ladies Auxiliary and National Council of Jewish Women. She was also a life member of the Ladies Hospital Aid Society, Hadassah and ORT. One of her favorite distinctions was serving as the first PTA president of H.B. Davis Elementary School. A constant advocate for those she cherished, she leaves behind a large circle of very close and lifelong friendships. She was incredibly proud of her family who lived and learned from her spirit and love. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Services at Rodef Shalom Temple, 4905 Fifth Avenue (at Morewood) on Monday at 1 PM. NO PRIOR VISITATION. Interment West View Cemetery of Rodef Shalom Congregation.
