FORBES, SHIRLEY (LEVINE): On Saturday, December 14, 2013; Beloved wife of the late A. Edward Forbes. Loving and cherished mother of Eleanore (Carl) Robins and Jerrold (Honi Zitt) Forbes. Sister of Harold (Paula) Levine and Vivian (Fred) Hoffman. Grandmother of Shoshanah and Vered Forbes and Daniel and Celia Robins. Great grandmother of Gavin McShane. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Pittsburgh, Shirley was a graduate of Taylor Allderdice and worked at Dravo during WWII. She married Eddie Forbes in 1945. A world traveler she loved the arts, science, music and gardening. Shirley achieved her long-time dream in 1975 by graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh in archeology. She volunteered tirelessly with the Jewish Association of Women, B'Nai Brith, Riverview Towers and others. She will always be fondly remembered. Services and interment private.
