HERWALD, GERALDINE (GERRY): On Monday, December 23, 2013; Beloved wife of the late Seymour W. Herwald and devoted daughter of the late Samuel and Rose Greenberger. Cherished mother of Melvyn (Barbara) Herwald, Michelle Herwald (Richard G. Katz), Bruce Herwald (Frances Huegel) and Steven Herwald. Adored grandmother of Tony (Susannah) Herwald, Michael (Bryanna) Herwald, Marc (Kristina) Herwald, Ry Huegel (Allison Gross), Nate Huegel and Sanna Herwald. Loving great-grandmother of nine great-grandchildren. Gerry was a proud first generation graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where she earned an undergraduate degree in Sociology and a Master's degree from the School of Business. Gerry, age 93, loved telling stories, dressing flamboyantly, spending time with her family, doing the daily Jumble and eating a hot fudge sundae whenever possible. The family gratefully acknowledges the role played by Gerry's caregivers, Maria Zuniga, Clarisa Adams and Meaghan Manning; their love and support were so important to her. Gerry will be remembered for her generous heart, her bountiful spirit and her zest for life. The impact that she made on our lives will remain with us forever. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Friday at 1 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services (12 Noon - 1 PM) Interment Temple Sinai Memorial Park.
