LOUIK, IRENE STALINSKY: Age 102, on Tuesday, July 8, 2014; Beloved wife of the late Harry Louik. Beloved mother of Michael (Jane) Louik of Pittsburgh and Mia Louik (Ed Needell) of Brookline, MA.  Predeceased by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Loving "Bubbie" of Sara Gluzman of Pittsburgh, Elizabeth (Hugh) Buchan of Somerville, MA and Jacob Needell of Denver, CO.  Great grandmother of Benjamin and Jordan Gluzman and Molly and Hannah Buchan. Also survived by other loving family. Irene was a deeply devote wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, always taking great joy in every family event near and far. She loved sharing her cooking and baking, particularly her renowned mandel bread.  She also loved the opera, ballet and symphony, as well as museums and the library, and she cared deeply about social causes.  She had a life-long yearning to learn and kept up with current events until the end.  She and her late husband established the Irene S. and Harry Louik College Scholarship Fund to assist students in the performing arts. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 12 noon.  Visitation one hour prior to services (11 AM - 12 Noon). Interment Beth Abraham Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Louik Scholarship Fund, Five PPG Place, Suite # 250, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
