BERMAN, MATHIAS: Age 95, of Regent Square in Pittsburgh, PA.  Died on July 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.  Son the late Myer and Dora Berman, he was the devoted and loving husband of Dottie (Bertha) Berman, the love of his life for 60 years. He was the cherished father of Ellen (Rabbi Robert) Dobrusin of Ann Arbor MI and Wendy (Michael) Pelletier of Hinesburg VT. He was the loving grandfather of Robert Pelletier, Avi Dobrusin, Katherine Pelletier and Mickie Dobrusin. Matt was the brother of Anne Zvirman of Maryland and the late David Berman of New York City.  He was the uncle of Charles Zvirman of Pittsburgh and Rabbi Naomi Zvirman Hyman of Maryland.  Matt was a proud native Pittsburgher who truly loved his city.   He was a graduate of Fifth Avenue High School before serving in the Army during World War II in Europe. After he returned to Pittsburgh, he studied gemology and was later employed as a manager by Martin Gluck and Sons where he worked for more than thirty years.  A dedicated hard worker, Matt was loved by all his co-workers and customers for his good humor, caring advice, and generosity.  He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family more than anything. He always let his family know how much he loved them.  Matt loved to build and repair things around the house, often in very creative ways.  He especially loved his weekend retreat in Mill Run, PA and looked forward to weekly visits.   Matt was a regular member of the morning minyan at Poale Zedeck, and enjoyed the torah study there as well.  Special thanks go to his long term caregivers, Peggy Chabak and Judy Stanko, for their dedicated and compassionate care. Even during his declining health, Matt was a happy man, thankful for his blessing of a loving family and always expressing gratitude for even the smallest kindness.   He will be forever loved and missed.   Graveside Services and Interment will held on Sunday at 11 AM at Homewood Cemetery. Donations can be made in his memory to Animal Friends of Pittsburgh, Family HospicePA.org or the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. www.schugar.com
