STERN, ELIZABETH "LIZ" SPIER: On Tuesday, November 24, 2015; Beloved wife of Theodore Stern. Loving mother of Andrew (Joanne Gold) Stern of Baltimore, MD and Jonathan (Joy) Stern of Rockville, MD. Sister of Hannah (Walter) Hess of New York City. Grandmother of Jason (Jenna), Jessica, Daniel and Zachary Stern. Also survived by brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews. Liz was born in Hannover, Germany, grew up in New York City and lived in Pittsburgh since 1958. She worked as an English Teacher at Hillel Academy and as a Manager of Planning for Allegheny County Department of Human Services for over 30 years. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 2 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services (1-2 PM). Interment Homewood Cemetery.
